Chaiwan and Wanchai districts of Hong Kong Island and in

Yaumati, Tsz Wan Shan, Hamtin and Wong Tai Sin in Kowloon,

the Society is financially self-sufficient. The main sources

of the Society's income are the monthly $1 subscription fees,

$3 initiation fees and surplus receipts of funeral aid

subscriptions. The Society has subsidised social functions

such as dinner parties for members to celebrate communist

events and recently has given relief to victims in a Chaiwan

squatter fire.

At present, the Executive Committee of the Society

consists of 19 office bearers, most of whom are known

communists or communist sympathisers. The key positions of

Chairman and Vice-Chairman are currently held by WAT Chiu

(1448/6389) and CHENG Wai (6774/0251) respectively, both of

whom are known members of the communist-controlled C.R.A..

VI Hawkers Committee of the United Nations Association of

Hong Kong (U.N.A.H,K.)

The Hawkers' Committee of the U.N.A.H.K. led by

MA Man Fai (7456/2429/6540) was formed in May, 1962, and by

1963 the formation of District Hawker Committees had

commenced.

These Committees were formed haphazardly through-

out the Colony without basic units of area representation

being evolved. For instance, Lau Fau Shan and Mongkok had

their own Committees but Western did not.
