Chairman MAO. You do not allow us to raise high the great red banner of MAO Tse Tung's thinking, to study, propagate and apply the invincible thought of MAO Tse Tung, to carry quotation from Chairman MAO or to wear Chairman MAO's badge. No, no, no. We must love our mother country and Chairman MÃO, raise high the great red banner of MAO Tse Tung's thinking, study, propagate and apply the invincible thought of MAO Tse Tung, carry quotations from Chairman MAO and wear Chairman MÃO's badge. We are applying the thoughts of MAO Tse Tung in our struggle against you and will continue to do so until the end. We pledge to defend the dignity of our great mother country and the great banner of MAO Tse Tung's thinking and to resolutely crush the bloody suppression and frenzied attack by British imperialism. This is our pledge. ??

At 7.30 p.m. last night, after the curfew announced by the British imperialist authorities in Hong Kong was in force, and after the mouthpiece of the British authorities in Hong Kong frantically clamoured for the closure of patriotic newspapers, the staffs of our patriotic journals joined forces at their respective offices. They all expressed their firm determination to resist the suppression and to carry on the struggle. They cheered thunderously: "Long Live Chairman MAO!" This is our answer to the British imperialst authorities in Hong Kong! You say:

"If incitement be continued.... "what.....will be taken and so on. Well, let us announce aloud: All Chinese compatriots in Hong Kong and Kowloon, mobilise yourselves up and respond to the call of the Hong Kong and Kowloon All Circles Committee for Anti-Persecution Struggle by carrying the anti-persecution through to the end until the final victory is won. We shall fight shoulder to shoulder with our compatriots in Hong Kong and Kowloon and win the victory together!

Our great leader Chairman MAO teaches us: "The dominance of the black forces at home and abroad causes a disaster to the nation. However, dominance not only means that the black forces are still powerful, but also that their last struggle denotes that victory for the broad masses of the people is drawing near."

We must severely warn the British authorities in Hong Kong: "Your struggle is useless - we are marching towards victory. If you escalate the suppression, your crimes will be greater and the punishment you will receive will be more severe. The greater the extent to which suppression is carried out by you, the brighter and bigger the fruit of our victory.

The

Rise up, our dear compatriots in Hong Kong and Kowloon. We are not isolated in our struggle. Foreign Ministry of our country has issued the most urgent and strongest statement protesting to the British Government and giving its wholehearted support to our struggle. Leaders of our country, such as CHOU En Lai, CHEN Po Ta and HSIEH Fu Chih, solemnly declared to a 100,000-men rally in Peking that they resolutely support our struggle. This is the voice of our great leader Chairman MAO and shows his boundless concern and support
