AMALGAMATIONS OF GURKHA INFANTRY BATTALIONS
The reduction of infantry battalions is being achieved by the amalgamation of the 1st and 2nd battalions of each regiment as follows:
10th Gurkha Rifles amalgamated at Penang in September 1968.

b.
6th Gurkha Rifles amalgamated in Hong Kong in June 1969.
C. 7th Gurkha Rifles will amalgamate in Hong Kong between July and November 1970 when the Gurkha battalion withdraws from Brunoi.
d.
2nd Gurkha Rifles will amalgamate in Hong Kong between August and December 1971 when the last Gurkh battalion withdraws from Singapore.
