The Army Department's examination of CINCFE's proposal is still in progress but initial studies confirm that à decision can be made on the existing garrison without pre- jice to future decisions concerning the British troops who may replace the Gurkhas. The Army Department note on the proposal is likely to be considered by the Chiefs of Staff in mid July.
