CONFIDENTIAL
Hong Kong Department
19 March, 1969
Thank you for your letter A/16/ ABROAD/5712/F1(AD) of the 14th March about the recovery from the Hong Kong Government of the extra costs falling on Defence Votes as a result of the reinforcements needed during the internal security situation in the Colony during 1967.
We have not, as yet, received any report from Hong Kong on the outcome of their discussions with the Deputy Command Secretary on this subject. However, in view of your enquiry, we are writing to ask them to let us know the position.
I will then write to you
again.
