The Requisitioning of Ships Order, 1955 and The Requisitioning of Ships (Amendment) Order, 1958

These Orders are again out of date and it is proposed

to repeal and replace them with an up-to-date version. copy of the draft of a proposed new Order is enclosed.

As in the case of the existing Orders, the new Order

will not provide for the requisitioning of aircraft; this is because it is considered that the arguments advanced in 1955 against including such a provision remain valid (see Secretary of State for the Colonies' Top Secret telegram No. 277 of 19 March, 1955). Like its predecessors, the

new Order will not be published.
