"In fact the temporary serviceability problems encountered earlier.
this year and mentioned by the Minister of Defence for Equipment recently in the House of Commons provided an illustration of the care takon to
maintain a high level of servicoability.
"A toam from Rolls Royco was sent to the Colony specifically to solve the problems which arose because of local weather conditions, and modifications to the helicopters have now been made in consequence of this
visit.
"In his statement the Mini stor said that there was no gonoral dissatisfaction with those helicopters in the Royal Air Force.
"Both the Hong Kong Government and the Armed Services are very conscious of the important role played by holicopters in Hong Kong, both in Police and Military operations, and in saving life, and are therefore always looking for an opportunity to improve our capability in this respect.
"The Honourable Member has roferrod to the annual dofonce contribution; I would like to point out that at the time this was fixed no Royal Air Forco helicopters were stationed in Hong Kong and thoro was no plan to station any. 28 Squadron has boon added to the garrison since that time, and a vory walcomo addition it is."
