But the cost of operating the helicopters will no

doubt be taken into account when the new defence contribution

agreement is negotiated with Hong Kong,

7. The Governor has asked that, if a favourable decision on the

request for the four additional helicopters is not reached

earlier, he would like to discuss the matter with the Defence

Secretary when the latter visits Hong Kong during the period

24-26 June. You may wish to make this point.
