AIRCRAFT FOR HONG KONG

1. You will have seen the minute (1) from the Secretary of State concerning fighter and helicopter aircraft for Hong Kong, a copy of which is attached.

2.

The Air Force Department, in conjunction with the Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Operations) and the Defence Secretariat is invited to prepare a note on paragraph 2 of the minute concerning the feasibility of occasional visits by PAF fighter aircraft to Hong Kong after 1971. In view of the Secretary of State's request for a quick answer, have asked that the note should be ready for circulation for your consideration by noon on Wednesday 16th July 1969.
