AIRCRAFT FOR HONG KONG
This was discussed at the Chiefs of Staff today and the minutes will show detailed discussion and decisions.
2. As far as the FCO were concerned it was agreed that we should consult the Governor Hong Kong on the adequacy of the Chiefs of Staff plan for occasional training flights. He may find them inadequate since
this only provides about 20 days a year against the 105 days
at present provided by flights from Singapore. However the
Governor may find this better than nothing as giving him a breath- ing space before he reaches a final decision on whether Hong Kong can afford the repositioning of Hunters.
