No. 695

With my Saving Despatch No. 673 dated the 29 November, I sent you copies of the Customs (Import Deposits) Bill; thig has now been enacted and I enclose copies of the Act itself.

The now on goods imported for re-export and re-imported. provisions are of wide application and will leave room for Customs officials to give more reliefs than would have been ponsible under Schedule 2 as originally drafted with the Bill.

When the mechanics of the scheme have been in operation for aome time, it should be possible to see how these measures se affecting your trude, and I should be interested to hear from you when you are in a sition to assess this.
