for this purpose. If
The information is hot available through Hormal banking
Channels, we might Consider putting a direct request to Ser J. Cowperthwaite (although whether e how
we do this must depend

The information).
Thank you for sending me a copy of
Hannam's letter 6/6/2 dated 23rd January about

letter on the same subject dated 21st January.

your own letter.

a possibility that the Government Treasury
will get to know of the enquiries you have
been making. If this were to happen I would

vigorously to the idea that we were asking for
this sort of information without going direct
to his Department.
Is there any way in which I can help
he United
or do you expect to get everything you want out of Patterson when he comes to the United
Kingdom? I see he is expected here at the
beginning of February
