It is difficult at this stage to know to what extent, if any, the flow of goods will be affected. You will have heard from your London Office that the Bank of England has been notifying authorised banks about the effects on the Import Deposit Scheme of existing Exchange Control arrangements. Only when these become clearer shall we know how heavily these measures are likely to bear upon your export trade to this country. We shall address you further as necessary.
