If for any reason the companies deem it necessary or expedito use in connection with their franchise any vehicle of any British or British Commonwealth manufacture, they may apply to the Governor in Council for permission which may be granted on such terms as the Governor thinks fit.

3. I understand that it has been a complaint of the

bus companies for a long time, that British buses

are too expensive but I believe they are held to the terms of the ordinances. I do not know of the likelihood, if any, there is that Hong Kong may be intending to relax these provisions, but unless the law was amended they could only do so on a case by case basis.
