Export of Restrained Cotton Textiles to Britain: High Hong Kong Cost Content Scheme for
Made-ups and Garments
Fourth Quarter, 1968 - Allocation
With reference to my Notice to Exporters, Series 1 (Britain): No.15/68 of 31st August, 1968, applications received exceeded the total yardage available for Group IV, the available yardage having been increased by 96,422 square yards to a total of 5,252,163 square yards. Accordingly, an overall cut-off level of $2.601 has been established. In the case of certain specific categories where the quantities available have been limited by virtue of their category ceilings, higher cut-off levels have been established.
2.
The final position regarding allocation of yardage available for the fourth quarter is tabulated at the enclosure to this Notice.
3.
It will be noted that for Categories 13, 16, 19 and 20 the higher category cut-off levels are $3.045, $3.13, #3.237 and $2.84 respectively. This means that all those applications in respect of the above four categories attaining a Hong Kong cost content higher than the respective category cut-off levels will be fully approved; applications attaining a Hong Kong cost content equivalent to the cut-off levels for the relevant categories will only receive a pro-rated share of the quantities applied for, as shown in column (f) of the enclosure.
4.
Successful applicants have been notified individually.
Yours faithfully,
Encl.
