I attach a copy of a Note sent by the Commerce and Industry Department to the Consulates General of Belgium and the Netherlands in Hong Kong seeking information on the Benelux Governments' intentions over renewal of the current cotton textile agreement.

This note is another indication of the Department's anxiety to obtain information on its negotiating commitments sufficiently in advance to be able to make adequate preparations to meet them.
