Swedish Textile Negotiations.
After lengthy discussions with Jordan, it is considered that negotiating instructions should be modified to the extent that Jordan should not concede restraint on blouses and
undergarments. Goldsmith who has just seen de Geer in Paris reported that he was less concerned about these items. Furthermore on undergarments we have uncovered new discrepancy in Swedish figures. Case for restraint on these two items
will be re-examined with Swedes with a view to further
consideration in consultation with you and in the light of a number of factors which Jordan will explain on the telephone.
