It is unfortunate that the additional figures for which you have asked are still not available
because it is important not to agree even to extension
of existing arrangements unless the factual basis
fully justifies this. In the absence of these additional
figures, we cannot properly advise on your negotiating
instructions in those categories previously restrained
where extension is legitimately sought by Swedes.
If additional figures are available intime we should still be interested to see them and presumably you
will not agree to continued restraint anyway until before
they are provided. But if figures are supplied
will
inconveniently late for us to make a useful contribu-
tion to their analysis, we see rely on your
judgement for outcome of negotiations.
