Further to Notices to Exporters Nos. 3/68 and 23/68 of

6th July and 20th December, 1968 respectively, please be advised that, following consultations with the Swedish authorities, exports of the following items will be under restraint until 30th June, 1969:

not knitted or crocheted, wholly or mainly of continuous or dis- continuous synthetic fibres, men's and boys' wear

Quota already issued for men's and boys' anoraks may now also be used for the shipment of women's and girls' anoraks.

There now remains available for allocation approximately 74,500 pieces for the shipment of either male or female anoraks and, on the advice of the Cotton Advisory Board, it has been decided tuat this quantity should be distributed by means of an export authorization scheme open to all comers on a first-come- first-served basis.

Operation of Export Authorization Scheme

4.

The arrangements are:

(a) The Department will accept applications for export

authorizations with effect from 9 a.m. on Friday, 14th March, 196 against evidence of firm contracts in the form of -

(i)

(ii)

the originals of contracts placed by Swedish buyers;

the originals of contracts placed by Hong Kong exporters with local manufacturers;
