Miss G. J. Elliott (CRE, Board of Trade)
The Norwegian trade statistics promised in Oslo telegram 247 have just arrived and I hasten to send you copies.
2. You will have seen from Hong Kong telegram No. 744 that the Governor is much concerned that comple- tion of consultations between his delegation and the Norwegians should not be delayed. We ought therefore to offer any comments on the Norwegian case as soon as possible perhaps by tomorrow evening, negotiations having already of course begun. Kr. Wilford has said that if you think it would be helpful he would be willing to hold a meeting in the latter part of tomorrow afternoon (say 4.30?) at which we could put our advice into a telegram.
3. In the meantime of course your representative at the talks will herself have had rather longer in which to study these new figures.
