I told you on the telephone today that we had ascertained from Hong Kong in a personal telegram from Jordan to Wilford what the position was over the impending Norwegian request (if such a request is impending) for an extension of MMF restraints by Hong Kong.

I attach a copy of the telegram in which the situation is explained. We have not, of course, seen any report from Oslo and I believe Mr. Wilford intends to telegraph Hong Kong to this effect.
