Notice to Exporters: Series 5 (Misc.) (Australia) No. 5/69.

Exports of Cotton Drills, Jeans, Denims and Dungarees to Australia

Please refer to Notice to Exporters : Series 5

(Misc.) (Australia) No. 4/69 dated 28th June, 1969.

Following consultations in Hong Kong with represen- tatives of the Australian Government, the Hong Kong Government has decided, on the advice of the Textiles Advisory Board and in accordance with its obligations under Article 3 of the Cotton Textile Arrangement, to limit exports of cotton drills, other than grey, of 6 oz. to 15 oz. by weight per square yard (Hong Kong Export Classification Number: ex 652 255).

Shippers are now invited to submit to the department complete schedules of their licensed exports of this item against export authorisations taken out during the period 1st August 1968 to 12th April, 1969. Returns made in the form of the attached Enclosure 1 should reach the department not later than 5 p.m., Thursday, 10th July, 1969, and must be countersigned by the finisher and weaver of the goods licensed.

Returns will be verified against the department's licensing records and any company found to have supplied incorrect information is liable to be disqualified from recei- ving an allocation of quota.
