My objects in proposing visit to Ottawa
(a) to discuss polyester/polynosic problem and
attempt to get it in proportion by relating
to size of total shirt market and total
imports;
(b) to meet Grey;
(c)
to see Benson again;
(a) to clear the air in relation to suggestions
and bad faith last year.
There would of course be no question of negotiation
at this stage.
Original intention was to fly London/Ottawa
on 24th June, but talks in London with FC and
BOT are now likely to take more than one day. It
would therefore be convenient to go to Ottawa on
26 June for talks on 27th, if you think it still
worthwhile despite Grey's absence. I think it wo
would be.
