Transfers Between Quotas under the Swing Scheme

Example of Swing Yardage Calculation

A company holds a quota of 5,000 doz. in Category 51 and wishes to swing the maximum of 3,500 doz. into it from a quota in Category 54 which is held either by the same company or by another company which has agreed to swing its quota out. The following calculation would be required:

(a) No. of sq. yds. per doz. for Cat. 51

(b) 3,500 doz. at 17.797 sq.yds. per doz.

62,289 sq. yds.

(c) No. of sq.yds. per doz. for Cat. 54

25.0

(d) 62,229 sq. yds. at 25 sq. yds. per doz.

2,492 doz.

Therefore 2,492 doz. must be surrendered from Category 54 to effect the necessary increase of 3,500 doz. in Category 51.
