Your Department wrote on 18 October, 1968, to the Commercial Section of our Cairo Embassy, on the subject

of UAR Consular endorsements.

Following your visit, we wrote to our Embassy and asked them to try to clarify the position regarding fees. They have now obtained a list, unfortunately in Arabic, and have sent us a translation of the relevant sections.

In case they have not copied this to you, I attach a copy

of their letter and enclosure.

I should be grateful to know in due course if you intend to take any further action on this matter.
