You will know that Sir Arthur Snelling has already

written to the Governor with a number of extracts from

the minutes of the two main meetings with Mr. Stans

which took place here in London last month.

In any

case David Sellers will have reported on what took

place.

I am now able to send you a complete record of

the discussions including the record of a meeting which

Mr. Stans had with the Prime Minister on 25 April. You

have of course received our telegram No.308 giving

guidance about the conduct of your own discussions with

Stans. As you also know George Whitehead, the Head of

our Commodities Department, whom you met when you visite

London not long ago, will be attending.

Looking back on the very numerous telegrams about

Stans' tour I see reference in Bonn telegram No. 454,

which was copied to you, to the brief prepared for

Stans' visit to Bonn by the Federal German Ministry

of Economics.

Derek Jones may well have forwarded a

copy of this brief to you from Geneva but in case not

I enclose two copies now.
