Thank you for your letter of 16 October, It is

agreed that the points made in Mr. Mulley's letter of

22 September can best be followed up as you suggest,

i.e. in the course of further consultations between

officials of cur two departments before the next

meeting of the Cotton Textiles Committee. Since by

then your Industries Division will presumably have

moved over to the Ministry of Technology, it is

particularly important that these consultati ons should

be initiated as long as possible before that meeting.
