TARIFF PREFERENCES

Following from delegation to OECD Ad Hoc Group on Preferences.

The Group mot from 13 to 17 October to continue consideration of its report to the Trade Committee. Kemmis (Board of Trade)

represented the U.K.

2. The United States delegation quickly made clear that they

were not able to take matters forward in any respect and their

failure was reflect in the attitudes of others.

It was suggested that the 'Substantive Documentation" to be

submitted to UNCTAD could be one or more of:

(i) The individual illustrative lists of the

donor countries.

(ii) A short general report drafted by the OECD

Secretariat and contained in Part II of document

TC/Pref/69.22.

(iii) A more substantial comparison of individual

offers under specific functional heads drawn up

by the Secretariat in Part I of the same document.
