At a joint meeting of the three Civil Staff Associations with Estat:list-

mant Brenah on 19th October, 1966, exurence was given that equality of pay was

to be attained by April 1975 and that a sahame should be implemented from April 1965

in aceerdance with the reccomendations of the 1965 Salaries Commission.

At this meeting Establishment Branch agreed to the fassibility of the

method of Implementation not only favoured by all three Civil Staff Associations

but also recommended by the 1965 Salaries Commission in their report, PP.103,104 and

105.

An acknowledgment was made en behalf of Your Excellency in which it

"His Excellency has, however, asked me to assure you that he hopes

the matter can be determined in the near future."

An explanatory statement was made by a Govammart spokesman on

29th January, 19691⁄2-

"The ouse for Nurses and Teachers has been deferred for further examination

became of the need to consider the position of wamen teachers in relation to the general

question of all teachers' solaries which were at present under review. It was expected

that the nurses' conditions of service would be the subject of a special review in the

near future,"
