created both during construction and operating stages.
If some of the points referred to above as covered
by a feasibility study, technical study, consultants' report,
detailed cost benefit analysis, or other report, it will be
sufficient to refer to thse documents and to enclose copies, if
they have not already been sent to the Ministry of Overseas
Development.
It should be noted that projects estimated to cost
£250,000 or more receive special consideration within the Ministry
and a careful assessment of all the relevant economic, commercial
and financial factors will be required. Inevitably this takes
time and it will normally be some time before a decision on aid
for a project costing over £250,000 will be reached.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE APPLICATIONS

In transmitting requests for technical assistance, you
should pay attention to the following points: -
(a) What is the significance of the assignment
or project for the development of the country? (b) Has a similar proposal been made to other donor
organisations or countries?
(c) Is duplication being avoided, e.g. with other
institutions in the same country?
(d) Has the proposal been examined by a Technical
Adviser and if so by whom?
(e) Is the necessary working accommodation and equipment
available?
(f) Is suitable living accommodation likely to be
available?
