the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if in view of the fact that factory workers in Hong Kong earn £4 10s. per week of 48 hours, what consultations he plans to have with the Governor in order to improve these low standards of payment.

information but in fact even the average unskilled industrial
worker earns £5. 5s. for a 48 hour week. #y Hon. Friend might
Imay seem still call these low standards but they are among the highest
in Asia and improving all the time, as a comparison between the
wages and cost of living indices would show.
