The second stage of a phased programme for the progressive reduction of the standard work- ing hours of women and of young persons aged 16 and 17 employed in industry will start on December 1.

From then on until November 30, 1969, the maximum standard working hours will be nine hours a day and 54 hours a week.

The phased programme

was introduced under the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Amendment) Regulations 1967

During the second stage, the amount of overtime which may be worked in # year will be mereased from 150 hours to 200 hours, a Labour Depart- ment spokesman said.
