Hong Kong Department
22 May, 1969
I enclose advance copies of those briefs for the Hong Kong visit that are ready, together with a list of all the briefs being supplied. Nos. 1-2, 4-6, 8-9 and 15 accompany this letter.
We are awaiting Arthur Galsworthy's clearance on No. 3: Local Government (he is only just back in harness). He is also
locking at some aspects of matters to be included in No. 7:
Public Order and Emergency Legislation.
No. 10: Kai Tak Airport and No. 11: Textiles can only be completed in the light of certain expected developments over the next few days. We await George Foggon's contribution on the Labour front (No. 13) and I have yet to complete No. 12: Judicial Appointments (to the Bench from the Bar) end No. 14:
Education.
I trust the tour is not proving too strenuous and that you
will not arrive exhausted in Hong Kong.
C. H. Godden, Esq., c/o British Embassy, RANGOON.
