Extension of Merchant Shipping (Load Lines) Act 1967 to Hong Kong

Purpose: to extend the Merchant Shipping (Load Lines) Act 1967 to
Hong Kong.
Present position:
S of S was requested in October 1968 to initiate action to extend the above Act and
all rules and regulations made thereunder, subject to certain modifications to meet local
requirements, to Hong Kong.
Despite 2 reminders, we have still, not heard
from the Secretary of State.

S of S was first approached in July 1966. representations were made in July 1967, and the letter of October 1968 promised "to push on with this as fast as possible".
