Amendment to Royal Warrant and Regulations governing
award of Colonial Fire Brigades Long Service Medal
On 17 October, 1968, a circular was sent to all
Dependent Territories and Associated States explaining
the problem and enquiring whether they would welcome
the amendments proposed by Hong Kong. Despite reminders
from us, two of the Territories have not yet replied to
our circular. We really need the views of all those
who use the Medal before we can approach the Honours
Committee about the amendments and we are sending
further reminders to the two outstanding Governments.

An interim reply to Hong Kong Saving Despatch
No. 1563 of 18 November, 1968, was sent on 3 June and
is now being followed up by a Saving Despatch asking
for certain information about the superior courts in
Hong Kong which is required before further progress can
be made.
I am asking the Departments concerned with the
above matters to do their best to see that outstanding
points are dealt with as soon as possible so that the
subjeeto can be brought to finality with a minimum of
further deley.
