Lord Shepherd," Minister of State, Foreign and Common- wealth Office, and Sir David Trench, Governor of Hongkong, have been discussing means of securing release of Mr. Anthony Grey, the Reuter correspondent, and other Britons detained in China.
Mr. John Moreton, the Foreign Office expert on Far East affairs, is reported to have accompanied Lord Shepherd with specific instructions from Mr. Wilson to

get the Hongkong Communists out of gaol." It is hoped that Peking will reciprocate by free- ing the Britons.
