PRISONERS

Eleven persons, including three women, who are serving

sentences in prison of between four and five years for crimes committed

during the 1967 disturbances have today each had their sentences reduced

to a maximum of three years, Subject to their good conduct and maximum

remission they should all be released from prison between July and

December this year.

Governor after he had considered and accepted the recommendations of the

Prison Board of Review in respect of these prisoners.

is currently examining the background of all such prisoners who have been

sentenced to serve terms of not less than four years imprisonment.
