I have prepared a draft interim reply to the Governor (below). We may of course be in a position to give him a definite answer after 7th April on the question of a visit by The Queen. But it could be some little while before we can reply about Prince Charles. In the circumstances I feel that a reply of sorts should issue without further delay. A brief can then be prepared for the Royal Visits Committee on 7th April (paragraph 4 above) and, if it is agreed that this is the right course, a letter from Sir S. Garner to Sir M. Adeane can be drafted on the question of a visit by Frince Charles (paragraph 5 above).
