Our telegram No. 1300.

Cross-Harbour Tunnel.

In the absence of any information from the Tunnel Company, Costains, whose tender has formally lapsed, are proposing to withdraw their people from Hong Kong. They point out that if the project were to be revived later it would be difficult and expensive for them to reverse engines.

2. Can you give us urgently any information about the Tunnel Company's intentions?
