Thank you for your letter regarding the labour information which I sent you. I see no objection to your passing copies of this to John Gowers but you might mention that the information on legislation relates to the position at 31st December, 1967 and is not now up to date in all respects. Before making use of any of the information it might be advisable for him to check up with us first.

The

wage data is the latest we have but it is somewhat complicated and we shall always be pleased to assist John Gowers or your office in its interpretation. Both David Sellers and I have been connected with the Labour Department and are personally familiar with the way in which the figures are set out.

I would very much like to meet Herbert Stewart and look forward to seeing you both next Wednesday.
