Payment of Wages.
10. The wage period in respect of which wages are payablo
during a contract of service shall, until the contrary is proved,
be deemed to be one month.
11. Fages shall become due on the expiry of the last day
of the wage period and shall be paid before the expiry of the
seventh day after the last day of the wage period.
12. Wages due to an employee on completion of his contract
of service shall be paid to him on the day of the completion of
such contract.
13. (1) Where an employee's contract of service is terminated all wages and any sum due to him at the time of the termination
shall be paid to him on the day of such termination or, if this
is not possible, within seven days thereafter.
(2) The sum referred to in subsection (1) shall be the
cquivalent of the amount earned by the employee for work done
over the period commencing on the expiry of his wage period next
preceding the time of such termination up to that time.
14. (1) Subject to this Ordinance, wages shall be paid
directly to the employee in legal tender at his place of employment
and on a working day.
(2) With the written consent of the employee concerned
wages may be paid
(a) (i)
by cheque, money order or postal order; or
(ii)
(Cap. 155.)

into an account in his name with any bank licensed
under the Banking Ordinance; or
(iii) to his duly appointed agent;
(b) subject to section 15, at a place other than his place
of employment.
15. Wages, or any sum due to an employee in respect of his contract of service on the completion or determination thereof,
shall not be paid at any place where intoxication liquors are sold, or in any shop or store for the retail sale of merchandise or in any place of amusement, except where the employee is employed in such shop, store or place.
16. (1) A contract of service may provide for giving to the employee food, house accommodation or other allowances or privileges in addition to wages as remuneration for his services.
(2) No employer shall give to an employee any intoxicating liquor by way of wages or such remuneration.
