Programme of Labour Legislation
I have not replied formally to this saving despatch but the Commissioner of Labour gave details of the labour legislation programme as far as could be foreseen during the meeting with you on 13th May, 1968.

At the moment, the Employment Bill commands the highest priority and this should be presented to Executive Council before the end of this month. It will then be published for general information early in July and given a first reading in Legislative Council in mid-July. The next major item will be the Workmen's Compensation (Amendment) Bill. This should be ready for presentation to Executive Council in September and to Legislative Council shortly afterwards. The third major item will be the Industrial Relations Bill which I hope will come forward by the end of the year.
Between these items, various minor pieces of labour legislation will also be introduced.
