15: Driving belts passing through a floor must be securely fenced to a height of 6 feet from the floor. Driving belts must also be securely fenced if used for main or counter driving and within 64 feet of a floor or of a place to which workers have access. Overhead driving belts more than 4 inches wide under which persons are likely to pass must be securely protected by adequate guards.
16. All shafting within 6 feet of a floor or of a place to which workers have access must be securely fenced.
All moving parts of a machine adjacent to a place to which workers have access must be securely fenced.
18. All fencing must be maintained in an efficient state and must not be removed while the machinery fenced is in operation except for cleaning, repair, lubrication, or adjustment.
19. All platforms, pits, and openings in floors and other potentially dangerous places, and all vessels containing scalding, corrosive, or poisonous liquids must be securely fenced to a height of at least 3 feet or otherwise protected in a satisfactory manner.
* 20. FIRE. All doors leading out of a workplace or giving access to a stairway must be of fire-resisting material and, except in the case of sliding doors, must be constructed to open outwards. The doors of every room in which more than 10 persons work must also open outwards.
21. While any person is in a workplace doors must not be so locked or fastened that they cannot be easily and immediately opened from the inside. 22. Where so required fire exits must be marked by illuminated notices in English and Chinese.
23. Smoking and the use of naked lights may be prohibited in any workplace in which inflammable liquids or materials are used.
24. Satisfactory provision must be made for closing in the event of fire all openings in the floor of a workplace through which shafts or driving belts pass.
25. All fire escapes and fire fighting appliances in a workplace must be maintained in good order and free from obstruction.
26. Any dangerous goods store within a building containing a registrable workplace must be satisfactorily isolated from the workplace by a structure of fire-resisting material.
27. Safety precautions and fire safety precautions prescribed in writing by the Commissioner in respect of any specific registrable workplace must be complied with.
