Early expansion of the activities of the Labour"
Department is inevitable. A departmental legislative programme
of about 30 items is in existence and could be expanded further

if the resources of the department could cope with the work.

by outside help and by additional permanent staff. The secondment
of a labour adviser to help with the legislative programme would
be welcomed. Additional permanent senior, staff required is one
Senior Labour Officer immediately and two Assistant Commissioners
in the fairly near future. It is likely that two experienced
expatriate contract officers would be required to fill these
three new posts.
