Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance, 1955
I have been having a look at this legislation and I find that the regulations made in 1958 to limit the hours of work of women and young persons were made in exercise of the powers conferred by Section of the above Ordinance on the Commissioner of Labour.
2. On the face of it therefore, it would seem that once there has been a decision on policy the Commissioner of Labour has powers forthwith to issue the appropriate regulations. Perhaps you will be able to confirm whether such regulations would require the approval of the legislature.
