13th June 1968.
With reference to our previous correspondence about proposed amendments to the copyright law of Hong Kong and litigation in the form of a representative action between Rediffusion Hong Kong Limited and the members of the Legislative Council, I have just returned from Hong Kong where the defendants took out two procedural summons. On one of these they succeeded, and in form, until leave to appeal has been given either by the court in Hong Kong or by the Judicial Committee, this would have the effect of bringing the action to an end. However, active steps are being taken to prosecute an appeal to the Judicial Committee and the matter must therefore continue to be regarded as sub judice.
