17. Your suggestion that a member of your staff should attend selection boards at the Crown Agents for direct entry expatriate Inspectors has been referred to the Crown Agents. At the present time these boards are attended by Gazetted Officers of the Force who happen to be on home leave at the time.

19. It is considered that attendance on the Special General Duties Course at Wakefield has little to offer to experienced Inspectors but that it is valuable for certain members of the Inspectorate who have been promoted from Rank and File. We will therefore continue to make nominations for it.

20. It is our intention to continue to send to Hendon local Inspectors of 5 years service who have displayed outstanding ability and promise.

21. Future nominations for places at Folice Colleges in the U.K. will be confined to Senior Inspectors and Gazetted Officers.

Internal Security Training

22. We have examined the type of shot used in Groener Guns and it seems clear that the smaller gauge shot increases the chance at medium ranges of wounding without killing. Future orders will therefore be for the smaller gauge shot. When this arrives the old ammunition will be used for training.

Part 7. Forces Transport

23.

Consideration is being given to the Commissioner's recommendation for maintenance workshops in each of the three Folice Land Districts, and your suggestion that the Force should undertake the servicing and minor repair of its own vehicles at these workshops.
