Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
A.
This Ordinance may be cited as the Young Offenders (Miscellaneous Provisions) Ordinance 1967, and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.
2. The enactments specified in the first column of the Schedule are amended respectively in the manner specified in the second column thereof.

Add the following new sub-heading and section after section 109--
Restriction on imprisonment of persons between 16 and 21 years of age. 11 and 12 Geo. 6 c. 58 s. 17(2).
"Imprisonment of young offenders.
109A. (1) No court shall sentence a person of ог over sixteen and under twenty-one years of age to imprisonment unless the court is of opinion that no other method of dealing with such person is appropriate; and for the purpose of de- termining whether any other method of dealing with any such person is appro- priate the court shall obtain and consider information about the circumstances, and shall take into account any information before the court which is relevant to the character of such person and his physical and mental condition.
(2) In this section "court" includes the District Court or a magistrate.".
