An Ordinance to amend further the Drug Addicts Treatment and

Rehabilitation Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1.

This Ordinance may be cited as the Drug Addicts Treat- ment and Rehabilitation (Amendment) Ordinance 1967, and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.

2. Subsection (3) of section 5 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

(a) by deleting "and order," after "application" in the first

place where it occurs; and

(b) by deleting "and order" after "application" in the second

place where it occurs.

3. Subsection (2) of section 7 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

(a) in paragraph (a)—

(i) by inserting "and" at the end of sub-paragraph (iii);

and

(ii) by deleting sub-paragraphs (iv) and (vi); and (b) in paragraph (b) by deleting "or if, having been given leave of absence from a centre by the superintendent, fails to return at the end or determination of the period of absence".

4.

Section 9 of the principal Ordinance is amended— (a) in subsection (2) by deleting "on trial"; and

(b) in subsection (3)-

(i) by deleting "on trial"; and
