Consolidate and amend the law relating to the maintenance of public
order, the control of organizations, meetings, places,
vessels and aircraft, unlawful assemblies and riots and
matters incidental thereto or connected therewith.
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and
consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

PART I.
Preliminary.
This Ordinance may be cited as the Public Order Ordinance
Interpretation.
2. In this Ordinance, unless the context otherwise requires

"closed area" means any area or place declared to be a closed area
by order under section 36;
"meeting" means any gathering or assembly of

the person having it in his possession or under his control
for such use by him or by some other person;

"political organization" means any organization which has among
its objects any political object or pursues any political
purpose;
"public gathering" means á public meeting, a public procession
